THIS MESSAGE IS URGENT. Today
we became aware of a proposed change regarding the San Francisco flight
path (called SERFR). This path has NO relationship to the BVA flight
path into San Carlos Airport. This is the San Francisco Airport flight path (this flight path is 24 hours per day, 7 days per week). Deadline for FAA comment is this Wednesday at 11:59PM (November 8). Again, we only found out about this proposed flight path change today. We
have an urgent message out to the FAA regarding the nature of the
proposed change, but the change in the flight path looks bad for
Mountain View and Sunnyvale. It eliminates a Palo Alto Waypoint called
MENLO. By eliminating this Palo Alto waypoint (MENLO), it is no longer
clear where the San Francisco flights will fly. We are asking ALL members and their family members/friends to write to the FAA with the following message (below) to extend the November 8, 2017 deadline, so we can get information regarding this proposed change and what this means to our community.
All we are asking for is an Extension, so we can look into the proposed
change. That being said, the proposed change (at least initially)
looks bad for Mountain View and Sunnyvale/Cupertino. Please go to the following FAA link: https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/flight_info/aeronav/procedures/application/?event=procedure.results&tab=coordination&nasrId=SFO#searchResultsTop Instructions: 1. Fill in your name, phone, and email address (all are required fields) 2. Under the section titled "* Please check or fill in the type of concern below:"
3. Under the section titled "* Detail Description Summary:"
4. Press the "Send Email" button- to submit the comment. _________________________________________________ BEGINNING OF COMMENT: I am a resident of Sunnyvale. I
strongly object to the elimination of the MENLO waypoint before the FAA
has informed the community how aircraft will be routed beyond the EDDYY
waypoint. I
further request that the SERFR THREE comment period be extended until
the FAA provides the community with full details on their plans for
traffic flow. ________________________________________________ END OF COMMENT Please have everyone you know send this comment to the FAA at the email address above. Sorry
for asking for you help again, but this is very important. The public
comment period on this ends November 8, and (at first glance) this does
not look good for Sunnyvale and Cupertino. We need time to evaluate
this change and act accordingly to make sure Sunnyvale is clearly
represented in this matter. Any questions please fee free to write. There
is further technical information contained below.from Quiet Skies
NorCal. Moving the MENLO waypoint could have big consequences for
Sunnyvale and Cupertino. Thanks, Jen
